
Julio Montes de Oca
Julio Montes de Oca joined ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ in February 2022 as Director of Coastal Resilience. As strategy lead in the Americas, he supports the development and implementation of projects that safeguard marine-coastal ecosystems, which are critical habitats for resident and migratory birds.
Before joining ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Julio worked for international NGOs, cooperation agencies, and international treaties. Stemming from his training as a chemical engineer and human ecologist, he has practical experience in a diverse array of areas, including wetlands and watershed management, climate change adaptation, water and sanitation, and international policy.
In his spare time, Julio enjoys cooking (very well), playing the guitar (not so well), and is an avid football dad.
